Barkroads Online
We bought a new Blazer in 1972 and my goal was to try to get to the end of every road in New Mexico. That never happened of course, but the dream hasn't died and it still sounds like fun. However, with the coming of the internet, digital photography, and GPS navigation the potential value of such an accomplishment is much different that it was in 1972!
In spite of reaching 300 million people in the USA there are still parts of the country where people are VERY scarce. I am lucky enough to live in New Mexico and there are thousands of square miles where almost no one every visits. Our family has spent the fourth of July weekend camped out in places where we saw no other cars or people the whole weekend.
One of these days I want to take a trip with my cameras and GPS and try something really special with this site.It is now possible to buy a decent video Camera for less than $200. It will record video in a new compressed format (H.264) that I can put on a website and it will server much larger images than previously seen. The link below will open a new window to video camera detals.(As I write this, the black model is not yet available, but should be soon.)
In the meantime I have linked to all the Ebay auctions that include the word "back roads" in their title. If you see something interesting there, just click on the link and you will go directly to that auction on Ebay.
